Yardstick picture frame | HometalkMart 21, 2021
When I came across a vintage-scale barrel in a junk shop. I knew I could use them for something ……. Like picture frames.
With minimal skill and about half an hour, I produced a couple of these adorable picture frames.
I used a plastic miter box to cut my rules at a 45 degree angle. They’re very soft and pretty easy to cut by hand.
I smoothed the cut edges with some 220 grit sandpaper.
Then I glued them around an Ikea Ribba picture frame. Starting with the side panels.
Just a bead of Elmer’s Wood Glue … and blue painter’s tape to hold the rule pieces in place until they dry. Maybe about half an hour.
Once the side pieces were firmly dried I glued the top pieces on with my lovely 45 degree angles.
I filled them with old index cards and postcards … but I’m pretty sure class pictures would look amazing.
