How to Create an Accent Wall with Cedar Plank FencingMart 20, 2021
I love all of the old rustic walls I’ve seen on Hometalk and HGTV, so my husband went a step further and absolutely amazed me at how creative he got! He got some cheap plank fences from a local hardware store and matured them with balsamic vinegar and a steel wool pad that had been soaked in a mason jar for about 4 weeks.
The first thing he did was take a ceiling tile that Lowes gave us. I had Modern Masters Metal Effects paint on it some time ago and Mr. Mark said he had thought about what to do with it and WOW, did he ever do that! He used glue to apply it to the wall and then built the wood around it!
See how this MMP got it from new to old in no time! For more information on this color, please visit www.modernmasters.com
The planks have been measured, cut and ready to be screwed to the wall!
Mr. Mark, screw in the boards! He used black drywall screws to keep it rustic!
After the boards were up, he framed the tile in the middle and added some embellishments to make it all come together!
As he always says, “BAM” is another great job from Mr. Mark! I told him he totally blew this one out of the park! Thank you sweetheart!
