How to Build a Fire Pit for Under $ 75Mart 20, 2021
Many other home improvement enthusiasts have shared their versions of homemade fire pits here on Hometalk. The designs and budgets seem to range from economical and simple to expensive and lavish. I think ours is somewhere in the middle. Fire pits are a great family friendly project that will provide benefits for many years to come. Why not try building one this summer?
Our plan didn’t involve extensive digging or landscaping. We just picked a flat spot in the yard that worked best for us and placed two different types of concrete blocks in a circular pattern.
We have referred to some fire pits blueprints provided by the store, although we have only used these plans as a guide. Once the first ring was done, the second ring went all the way up and so on.
Landscape glue was used to glue the blocks together for the second and third rings.
Once the fire pit was ready we used pea gravel to cover the grass in the ring.
If it seems easy, it was! Of course there are a few more building details. You can find them and more on the blog. If you’ve always wanted to build a backyard fire pit, now is the time to do it!
