DIY spring daffodils from Keurig K-CupsMart 21, 2021
Did you know that K-Cups are NOT recyclable in more than 90% of households? The plastic is heat resistant and cannot be easily melted down for reuse. Even if you toss them in your trash, they will be removed when you sort them. Most of the KCups end up in landfills. Whenever I can reuse it, I try.
With spring around the corner, I immediately saw a daffodil trumpet as I looked at my KCups and this craft idea was born. With cardboard and spray paint, I was able to transform what would otherwise end up in a landfill into a festive and “spring-like” work of art!
I created this three dimensional pallet artwork using leftover supplies that I had lying around. (Recycled K-cups, cardboard and vinyl)
First I sprayed some KCups which I cleaned
Then I cut the petals out of yellow cardboard and folded them to give them dimension
I stained pallet wood to create a rustic backdrop for the flowers to attach to
