DIY built-in closet – Jessica Sara MorrisNisan 23, 2021
I’m finally writing this blog. If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen that we made DIY built-in wardrobes a month ago. We live in a 1,300 square foot house and six of us share this house. Every space in our home is maximized for storage, and we don’t keep anything that we don’t use.
As I scrolled on Pinterest, I saw the perfect DIY closet system, and that’s fun enough. Alicia actually followed me on Instagram. We didn’t follow Nick’s plans to a T; We did our own thing. But his plans are amazing if you are a novice builder!
Since the cost of the lumbar spine is 50-60% higher than a year ago, this project cost us around 400.00, and that with having all the tools and paints in our possession.
Since we still wanted to use the top shelf for oversized baskets, we built our built-in to be 64 inches high. I also wanted two very deep drawers for all of my pajamas and loungewear as our dresser is small and doesn’t fit these.
Can you say my side of the closet is bursting at the seams? In reality, I don’t have many clothes for a woman.
We painted the wall and put the do-it-yourself wardrobe in Chantilly tip of Benjamin Moore. It’s such a bright white and we’re slowly painting our entire house that color.
We wanted a very cohesive look in our closet, so we bought these pant hangers and these regular coat hangers. Really good bang for your buck and they ship fast!
In 2016 I started making capsule cabinets every season. This reduces the amount of clothing you have in your closet at any given time and makes it easier to get dressed – in my opinion.
