DIY Before and After: White Chandelier With Crystals and PearlsMart 22, 2021
The DIY chandelier is complete and I love the deep statement it makes in my home office.
I found this brass chandelier in a thrift store for $ 4.99. Using white spray paint, crystals, and pearls, I turned this piece into a stunning statement on a budget!
First, I did a thorough cleaning of this thrift store chandelier (it took about a roll of paper towel to get this pretty shiny). Then I dragged the thing to my garage to start painting.
I taped the open end of the electrical wires and stuffed newspaper into the lamp sockets to make sure the varnish wouldn’t damage the connection. Then I went into town with white spray paint.
I used glass crystals from an old chandelier. The only problem I had with the glass crystals was the brass color of the connectors and hooks. I bought a white paint pen to fix the problem.
In order to attach the crystals and beads to the light, I considered a number of things, including drilling, soldering, and other clutter. But in the end I just used a little bit of hot glue and white wire to glue everything onto the chandelier. It worked perfectly
