DISCOVERY: Dated powder room receives an atmospheric makeoverMart 21, 2021
In the past few weeks we’ve done some major surgeries on this outdated powder room. Only when I make these posts will I be reminded of what we started with. . .
If there’s one thing you should know about me – I LOVE experimenting with style. I really use my home as a personal canvas. I know there will always be a better way of using things or better materials, but the reality is that we are trying to do the right thing with what we have.
We didn’t have a big budget for this room. However, it didn’t stop us from creating a stylish powder room with a big impact – thanks to a range of DIY projects, bold colors, and leftover materials.
Color plays such a vital role in creating the desired mood of a room. Using a dark shade on the walls + cladding for a monochrome look helps create the intimate feel of this space (Brush Nickel, P5244-62, PARA Paints).
Affordable and stylish lighting options are so hard to find these days. I scored another fixture in Hampton Bay at Home Depot. It’s actually an outdoor light that I found for $ 35. I changed the original look of this light fixture by removing the glass ball that is inside the steel case. I love the charm of this lantern light!
