11 Beautiful Beach House Living Room Ideas – Mom Thrives

Mart 20, 2021 0 Yazar: admin

Of all the different types of home decor, there is one decorating option that just doesn’t seem to go out of style. If anything, it just keeps getting better and better. This is beach and seaside decor.

Beach decor is just as popular today as it was 20 years ago when I first tried the look in my teenage room. I still love the look and will happily spend hours looking through pictures of houses with this decorating style.

Instead of just hoarding all of my favorite rooms on a Pinterest board, I’ll share what I found. Make sure you click the source link under each image to see these wonderful beach house living room ideas as well, as there is so much more to see in each post.

Here are 11 living rooms you might want to draw ideas from to create your own unique beach house look.

Happy Housie

Living room with woven carpet, cream and white chairs, blue accents, and beach art gallery wall

While most of the blues that come to mind in beach decor are mostly turquoise or aqua, The Happy Housie shows us that we can use other blues. The denim blue in the curtains and the light French blue in the pillows go perfectly with the aqua accents and the light blue coffee table.

Anna Burke Interiors

Living room with blue accents and beach decor

The dark blue and sky blue accents are perfect in this coastal space. The rattan chairs, the woven baskets and the driftwood lamp create a perfectly cozy beach house feeling. I especially like the mix in textures with the layered carpets.

Nest with grace

Living room with blue and white striped sofa, burnt orange leather armchairs, a modern coffee table and abstract beach art on the coat

Here you can see a nice mix of modern, traditional, and beach decor to create the perfect living space. The more abstract art, the sleek lines on the bookshelves, and the white, clean coffee table give this space an update. The seashells, blues, and woven carpet are perfect beach accents.

Aqua painted living room with a hammock and natural woven carpets

Nothing says beach house like a nice hammock in the living room. I can imagine stretching out in this hammock with a nice book and opening all the windows for a day of self-care.

Studio McGee

Living room with blue sectional sofa, blue artwork, and exposed beams in the ceiling

Getting a coastal vibe in your home doesn’t mean you have to clutter it with ropes and seashells, and this living room proves it. Reclaimed wood beams give this otherwise modern living room a strong coastal feel. The deep blue, white walls, and patterned ottoman make for a more contemporary take on the beach decor.

Carl Aaston

Living room with a white sofa, white hanging lamps, blue pillows, and beige and blue artwork on the wall

This living room is a fantastic minimalist approach to beach decor. White furniture paired with blue accents and the retention of other elements in natural tones give a living room a cozy, uncluttered atmosphere.

Architectural Digest

Modern living room with beach decor accents

Shiplap walls can instantly make a room feel like a beach house by adding a living wood coat piece, coral wall hangings, and palm trees and you have the perfect modern beach house living room of your own.

Nantucket Beach Home living room with blue couches and nave walls and ceiling

This is a great living room for a family as it has plenty of comfortable seating. While the dark blue couches are the obvious focal point of the room, I like how the ship’s hatch is placed both vertically and horizontally to make the room look bigger and add a bit of interest to the walls.

Better houses and gardens

Living room with white sofa, blue chairs, and wicker accents

The beach decor works well in rooms with lots of natural light. This room blends traditional furniture styles with some wicker, blue, and some coastal accents. Note that the starfish and seashells on the table will help tie everything together.

Living room with Mediterranean-style fireplace, wicker hanging chairs and naturally woven carpet

This living room looks like it could be right on the Mediterranean coast, with the mirror on the mantle and the tiles around the fireplace taking on that Mediterranean style. The addition of wicker hanging chairs and a natural fabric rug creates a beach feel.

Living room with blue pillows and curtains and pieces of driftwood on the coffee table

This room has a lot of different styles that come into play here. The round is more industrial, the carpet is traditional, the table is modern. However, the wicker basket, pieces of driftwood, and deep blue accents make this space feel perfect for a beach house.
